Love Life
Jean and Charles met for the first time in the early 1970s. Charles invited Jean to a date over a basketball game, but she declined. This did not thwart Charles’s ambitions; he kept pursuing her, and when she finally agreed to go on a date with him, he poured his feelings into her and told her that she liked her.
After going on several dates, Charles finally asked Jean to marry him. She agreed to the proposal, and in 1973, they exchanged their wedding vows. The couple shared a unique kind of love; Jean was always by her husband’s side, and she supported him in his endeavors. In 1999, Charles Osgood participated in a Vanity Fair, and he mentioned that Jean was his greatest love, and that is probably the reason why they were together for so long.
Jean and her husband had five children. Their first child, Kathleen, was born a year after their wedding. Winston and Annee were born in 1975 and 1977, respectively. The other children are Emily and Jamie Osgood. The couple was always together, and they raised their children in New Jersey.
Her Husband
Jean’s husband is a legendary radio host and television commentator. He began his career in the media industry immediately after his graduation from college. He was hired by two classic music stations in Washington, where he was an announcer. A few years later, he became the announcer of the United States Army Band.
After his tour with the Band ended, Jean’s husband returned to WGMS, where he was promoted to program director. As the years went by, Osgood kept rising in ranks, and in 1962, he was moved to television. He worked at WHCT television before moving to ABC and finally at CBS. On CBS, Charles hosted the CBS News Sunday Morning for over two decades.
Generally, Jean’s husband had a great career on television and radio. He died in January 2024, aged 91, as a result of dementia.
Life After the Death of Her Husband
Jean Osgood was quite devastated following the death of her husband; this was someone she had known for over 50 years. Additionally, she greatly loved him, and despite the minor fights they had, they always reconciled because they loved each other. It is always tough to lose a loved one, but life has to go on regardless.
Jean Osgood continues to live in their New Jersey home, a home she had shared with her husband for a long time. She mostly spends time with her family and loved ones, especially her grandchildren, on the farm.
