Kristi Dawn Chenoweth was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on July 24, 1968. Kristin was adopted when she was five days old and adoptive parents are Jerry Morris Chenoweth and Junie Smith Chenoweth.
Her parents worked as chemical engineers. As an adult, Kristin met her biological mother and this came after his uncle noticed a resemblance and this led to them meeting up. Kristin started showing interest in music when she was still at her young age. She started performing at the age of 12 at the Southern Baptist Convention.
Kristin Chenoweth attended Broken Arrow High School and during that period she was an active at the school’s theatre department. After Kristin graduated, she attended Oklahoma City College.
She was also a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Additionally, she participated in the beauty pageants and won the title of Miss Oklahoma City University. She also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in musical theatre in 1990 but stayed at school to work on her master’s degree.
